We’re having a _______!

We had thought my ultrasound was going to be at the end of June, but by the time my Doctor could get it scheduled, it would be a couple weeks into July.  Chris is going to LA the first week in July and he really wanted to know what the baby is before he left.  So he scheduled an appointment for me at a 3-D/4-D ultrasound place.

At first the baby kept its butt shoved up against the placenta and its legs together.  Finally it moved and the lady showed us that our baby is a… GIRL!  It is as sure as can be.  She showed us a bunch of different shots from all different angles and there was no doubt (this lady has been doing these for 3 years and has never been wrong).

We are so excited to be having a girl!  That was what we really wanted.  Chris had thought all along it was a boy, even though he was hoping for a girl.  I was starting to think it was a girl, but all I’ve ever had was a boy, so it was hard to imagine anything else.  Our whole church was sure it was a girl and my Dad felt like God told him that it was a girl.  Chris’ family was desperately hoping for a girl.  So the whole Davis universe is very happy!  Bring on the pink and the frilly dresses!

Chris and I both got teary eyed when we saw that it was a girl.  Of course, we probably would have got teary if it had been a boy too, just because babies are so amazing.  At one point she let out a big yawn, “rubbed” her eyes, and nestled down on the placenta, like she was settling in for a long nap.  It was so sweet.

We plan to name her Leah Isabella!  Here are some pictures from her ultrasound:
