Scared Silly

My husband is at youth convention with our kids.  I miss him.

The teens that didn’t go on the trip came over tonight.  Some of them played Mario Cart all night, I chatted with a couple of the girls, and we ate pizza; nothing special, but we had fun.  I always enjoy it when the kids come over.  We don’t really have to entertain them… they just like hanging out at our house.  I had to take a couple of the girls home and I didn’t want them to be out too late, so I kicked everyone out by 9:45 PM.

When I got home, I put Isaiah to bed, and then put on Gaslight with Ingrid Bergman.  Oh my goodness!  Scariest movie ever! It was so good!  It reminds me of another of my favorite movies, Hitchcock’s Rebecca.  What I love about these kind of movies is there is no immorality, no blood, no violence and yet it scares your socks off.  It is pure and simple suspense.

It is about a teenage girl who’s aunt is murdered and the murder is never solved.  The girl grows up, gets married and moves back to the house where it all happened.  She starts to go crazy… or at least that’s what her husband is telling her is happening.  He won’t let her go anywhere and she starts to believe she really is mad.  You can tell what is going on, almost from the beginning of their relationship, yet it is so suspenseful.  I haven’t watched a movie I enjoyed this much in quite a while.

My only suggestion would be to not watch this movie when you are home alone.  I’m a little freaked out… in a good way .
