It’s Really True!

We had our “official” ultrasound today.  This is the one where they measure and make sure everything is where it is supposed to be.  The technician said she looks good and healthy!  She also commented that Leah was “crazy” because of how much she was moving around!  An active baby is usually a healthy baby.  She estimated my due date as October 29th instead of the 23rd, so we’ll see if my doctor officially changes it.  I think it probably just means Leah will be small (Isaiah was only 6 pounds).  I hope the 23rd is more accurate, because our youth are doing their Hell House on Halloween, so it really wouldn’t be great to have the baby being born at the same time (Chris joked that it would REALLY be a hell house if that happened)!

We didn’t tell the lady what the other ultrasound had said the gender would be, so that we would get an unbiased report.  She said without hesitation that the baby is a girl!  She probably thought we were the most unemotional people, because we didn’t really react to “finding out” it was a girl .  I think the fact that Leah was a couple weeks older made it even easier for them to tell.  So we can go buy paint for the nursery now!

I’m so glad we did the 4-D ultrasound, because we got to see way more of the baby than we did today.  The official one only took a half hour (the 4-D one was an hour) and most of it she was just measuring and we couldn’t even tell what we were looking at.  She just briefly showed us all of Leah’s major body parts, but we did get a really good look at her profile.  She was smacking on her hands and sticking her tongue out!

All of the pictures from today’s ultrasound were really blurry, but I will post one:

This is a profile pic, with her ribs to the left and her head to the right.  Her nose is poking up and it looks like she’s making kissy lips.  Hope you can decipher what you are looking at!

Isaiah is still adjusting to his big boy bed, and by adjusting I mean learning to stay in it.  The other night I peaked in on him right before Christopher and I went to sleep.  At first I couldn’t find him!  Then I realized that he was sitting on his toy chest at the foot of his bed, with his head resting on his mattress… ASLEEP!  I made Christopher come and look because it was so funny!  He didn’t even wake up when we put him into bed.

After finding him like that, we decided to check on him again last night.  This time he we was sleeping on the floor!  So Chris popped him into bed again.  What we wonder is, how many nights he’s fallen asleep in strange places in his room, and we had no idea?  That’s probably why we had him waking us up in the middle of the night to tuck him back into bed.  Crazy kid!
