Growing up

Isaiah has a new word… “Yes!”  He doesn’t use it in sentences yet, but if I ask him to say it, he does.  His other recent words are ball and shoe, and I think he says duck (“duh”) whenever he sees birds.

He is growing up so fast.  He was playing outside today and got his hand dirty.  He looked at it and then wiped it on his shirt .  He can follow simple commands now, like “close the door,” or “put your milk in the fridge.”

He is also very opinionated about what he wants.  Whenever Chester steals something from him, he screams at the top of his lungs.  When they were playing outside together, Isaiah was carrying around Chester’s ball.  Chester grabbed it away from him (the dog knows it’s his ball).  But when Isaiah started screaming, Chester gave it back.  I guess he couldn’t stand the yelling any more than I can.  As long as no one is getting hurt, I try not to interfere with their sibling arguments… they need to learn to problem solve on their own.

Chris is taking the youth to the district convention this weekend.  He’ll only be gone overnight, but I’ll still miss him.  All the kids that aren’t going on the trip are coming over to our house on Friday night, so they’ll keep me company!
