I’m So Huge!

Here’s my latest belly picture!  I’m so big already, that Chris thinks we’re going to have a big baby.  I think it has a lot more to do with me craving doughnuts.  Plus I haven’t really been wearing maternity shirts yet, so regular shirts show off my belly almost too well .  The scary part is that I’m only going to get bigger.  I still have almost 3 months to go.

Chris got back last Saturday night.  What a relief.  For one, I missed him like crazy!  Plus, it’s really hard taking care of a 2 1/2 year old all by yourself for a whole week.  Chris’ brother had flown out to go to the Dream Center with them, so after everyone got back, we took him to San Francisco on Monday.  We got a bit of a late start, so we only got to spend a couple hours shopping, but we found some cool stuff.

They came and sprayed for our cockroaches yesterday.  I had to clean out all my cupboards beforehand.  You don’t realize how much stuff you have until you have to do something like that.  We had to leave the house for 3 hours.  When we came back, there were dead cockroaches all around the fridge!  The unfortunate thing is that this probably won’t take care of the problem completely.  We put out a bunch of “roach motels” to catch the ones that escaped the extermination.  But we’ve still seen some live ones that were displaced by the whole ordeal.  It’s so disgusting!

We started registering for Leah at Target yesterday.  It’s hard to know what I really want.  With babies, it seems the things you register for are the things you never use (i.e. newborn socks).  I did find a really cute diaper bag that I love.  The other thing that I want the most are some bumper pads, but they are only available at Target online and they are currently out of stock, plus they aren’t cheap… so I may have to find different bumper pads that  would work.  Except that these are perfect!  Oh well, when she gets me up at 3 AM, I’m sure I won’t care what her bumper pads look like.

We keep working on prepping Isaiah for his new baby sister.  He says Leah, “E-uh” or “We-uh” which is very cute.  I was telling Isaiah again that the baby was in my belly.  He asked, “Is i’ cwying?”  He’s asked about the baby crying a few times before, so somewhere he’s gotten the idea that that is what babies do.  We got him a baby doll to promote “baby awareness” in preparation for our new arrival.  The other day he was carrying it around by the legs and pointing to its diaper area and telling me it was dirty.  So, yes, our son is getting ready for a new baby in the house!

Now if we could just figure out how to get him to potty train.  We bought Thomas underpants yesterday, hoping to use them as an incentive!  It would be so nice to get the process started before the baby gets here… but I don’t have high hopes.
